Eat’n’Go Limited, Africa’s leading quick service restaurant (QSR) company and the master franchisee of Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, and Pinkberry in Nigeria, has taken a bold step toward environmental sustainability through a strategic partnership with Akada, a Nigerian recycling and waste management company dedicated to environmental preservation.

Turning Waste into Impact

Through this collaboration, Akada is responsible for the collection, processing, and repurposing of recyclable waste materials—including paper packaging and other recoverable materials—generated across Eat’n’Go’s 181 outlets, beginning with Lagos.

In just one month of implementation, the initiative has already achieved a major milestone, with over 1,000 kilograms of waste successfully collected and recycled. This early success highlights the power of strategic partnerships in driving measurable environmental impact.

Sustainability at the Core of Operations

Speaking on the initiative, Ademilola Odunubi, Managing Director of Eat’n’Go Limited, emphasized the company’s sustainability vision:

“Sustainability is at the heart of how we operate. Partnering with Akada allows us to ensure that our operations contribute positively to the environment, reduce waste, and support Nigeria’s commitment to a greener planet.”

She added:

“We are proud to see tangible results already, with over 1,000 kilograms of waste recycled in just the first month, and we remain committed to expanding these efforts across all our locations.”

Advancing Nigeria’s Circular Economy

This initiative aligns with national and global efforts to reduce waste pollution, minimize environmental degradation, and promote sustainable industrial practices.

By ensuring that recyclable materials are properly collected and transformed for reuse, Eat’n’Go is actively supporting circular economy principles—where waste is viewed not as a problem, but as a valuable resource.

Sustainability with Social Impact

According to Anne Akposibruke, CEO of Akada, the partnership extends beyond environmental benefits:

“This partnership uniquely blends environmental sustainability with social impact. The 1,000 kilograms of waste recycled with Eat’n’Go is not just an environmental win—it represents critical resources channelled into our social programs.”

She further noted that the collaboration showcases a new model for corporate social responsibility, reinforcing Eat’n’Go’s commitment to environmental conservation, climate action, and building a greener planet for future generations.

A Shared Vision for the Future

Eat’n’Go remains committed to expanding its sustainability programs, leveraging innovation and partnerships to deliver long-term environmental and social value across its operations and the communities it serves.

As Africa’s leading QSR company, Eat’n’Go continues to grow its footprint while championing initiatives that demonstrate how businesses can scale responsibly and sustainably.
