EatN’Go Limited, the master franchisee for Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, and Pinkberry Gourmet Frozen Yoghurt in Africa, has announced a bold new sustainability agenda for 2024 aimed at significantly reducing its environmental footprint and advancing its long-term commitment to responsible business practices.
Under this comprehensive initiative, EatN’Go is setting two key sustainability targets:
- 50% reduction in packaging waste through innovation in recyclable and biodegradable materials, and
- 100% transition to renewable energy across all its outlets by 2025.
The company’s sustainability strategy will focus on three major pillars — energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing — reinforcing EatN’Go’s leadership in corporate responsibility within Africa’s quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector.
“At EatN’Go, we believe that doing well as a business also means doing good for our planet,” said Patrick McMichael, Group Chief Executive Officer of EatN’Go Africa. “Our 2024 sustainability roadmap reflects our dedication to making a measurable difference in how we operate — from the materials we use to the energy that powers our stores.”
Driving Sustainable Innovation
EatN’Go will implement eco-friendly packaging alternatives, replacing single-use plastics with compostable and recyclable materials. The company also plans to partner with local recycling firms to ensure proper waste recovery and management across all its restaurants in Nigeria and other African markets.
On the energy front, EatN’Go is investing in solar energy solutions and energy-efficient systems to power its operations. Several pilot outlets are already operating partially on solar energy, a milestone that will be expanded to full renewable adoption by 2025.
Community and Global Impact
EatN’Go’s sustainability commitment goes beyond its operational footprint. Through community-driven initiatives, the company will continue to promote environmental education, sustainable food practices, and green innovation among staff, customers, and local partners.
“Sustainability is not just a corporate goal—it’s a collective responsibility,” added McMichael. “We’re proud to take the lead in driving meaningful change and inspiring others in the African food industry to follow suit.”
